Several years before XML became a de facto standard, ATS realized the need for a hierarchical, self-describing, data modeling and storage technology. ATS developed the Contiguous Connection Model™ (CCM) technology to facilitate rapid information retrieval, enhance data navigation and visualization, and promote knowledge discovery. This patented technology (US Patent #’s 5,303,367 and 5,555,409), which was revolutionary for its time, automatically correlates hierarchical data, models it, and stores it in expandable name/value pairs. CCM goes much further–it creates a complete new hierarchical structure for each and every data point, with the data point as the root. These "inversions" are permanently stored and can be intuitively browsed using our powerful visualization tools.
The third patent is for a Relational Generating Graph Analysis Engine (REGGAE). REGGAE has an innovative cellular-like data model used to describe and relate complex data structures, perform distributed data analytics and find similar data based on like connections and attributes. The patent was issued as US Patent No. 8,069,188.
When asked to describe the value of the patent to ATS, co-author Bryan Tower stated, “Since we applied for the patent in early 2008, ATS has implemented this engine in a variety of applications that need to analyze complex data relationships. In the intelligence community, we created an application called Hypergraph that uses the engine to perform distributed data analytics in a secure, private cloud computing environment. It enables analysts to quickly and easily perform multidimensional analysis on millions of text documents. The invention in this patent provides a means to discover behaviors and patterns among seemingly unrelated data. For example, a retail store can easily analyze its customer behaviors to determine which products are more suitable for different demographics. There are numerous applications in healthcare, evidence discovery, threat intelligence, and other areas.”
