ATS awarded national software development contract

SILVERDALE, Wash. (Aug. 9, 2011) – The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded a local company an additional software development contract valued in excess of $1 million over five months.  The company, Applied Technical Systems (ATS) has hired additional software engineers in both its Silverdale, Wash. and Washington, D.C. locations to support this new business.

This new contract focuses on developing an intuitive, streamlined system to aid in patent application examination and decision making processes.  The solution includes an entirely new graphical user interface, advanced decision support services, information exchange and system interoperability.  This solution will also be designed to improve workflow with a significant time reduction in the data to decision process.

Through Internet-based technology, ATS will provide the USPTO with improved information management systems that supply patent examiners with the answers and tools needed to make faster, smarter decisions in the patent examination process.

New IT contract requires additional Software Engineers

ATS VP re-elected to SDVOSB Council Board of Directors

ARLINGTON, Va. June 29, 2011 - Doug West, Applied Technical Systems, Inc. (ATS) Vice President of Naval Engineering, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Council to continue on in the position of Secretary. Mr. West is one of the founding members assisting in the establishment of the SDVOSB Council and has held this same position since incorporation of the Council 2 years ago.

Silverdale, WA – May 26, 2011 – Applied Technical Systems (ATS)  intends to immediately hire up to 15 people in an effort to meet the increasing and ongoing needs of their US Army and Department of Commerce contracts.
Positions are mostly mid-level to senior-level software engineers with some project support, a growing sign of economic recovery for technology jobs for both ATS and Kitsap County.
