SILVERDALE, Wash. – Two local software companies are raising money for the Navy SEALs and support personnel killed in the Aug. 6 helicopter crash in Afghanistan this Sunday. The fundraiser is part of the national “31Heroes” fundraiser, which started in Virginia. Silverdale-based Applied Technical Systems and Poulsbo-based Paladin Data Systems will be hosting the event, which includes a private cruise, courtesy of Kitsap Harbor Tours, to and from Blake Island where guests will enjoy the traditional salmon bake and Native American dance show. Tickets include drinks aboard the cruise and the dinner/show. The cruise will begin from the Bremerton Foot Ferry dock at 11:30 a.m. and will return at 3:30 p.m. Congressman Norm Dicks will attend as a special guest. Tickets are $150 (tax deductible) and are limited to the first 100 people. ATS and Paladin are financing the entire fundraiser, so 100 percent of all money raised will go to the Navy SEAL Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
